[Cafes of Jeju] Grab a Gourmet Burger at “Namu Geurim[1]”

An important note on Jeju’s updated bus system and this blog post

From August 2017, Jeju Island implemented a new city and intercity bus system. It increased the number of buses in service, while simplifying the routes, fees and numbering system.

Consequently, the contents of this previously published blog post may have changed. We therefore would kindly request that you consult this page for new bus maps in English on VisitJeju.net,  and this page on our blog for a chart of the old and new bus route numbers.

If you read Korean, then the province’s official bus system website is a useful and up-to-date resource. We hope you’ll enjoy your travels on Jeju Island!

There are many characteristic cafes in Jeju, especially in the proximity of the Artist’s Village. We stumbled upon this particular place because of its engrossing signboard. Perhaps it was the name “Ohreumwi Burger” that evoked an image of generous portions, but we decided to give this place a try.

It’s very hard to miss this conspicuous signboard. The bright yellow structure was especially riveting. I mistook the place to be called Ohreumwi’s Burger, but it’s actually “Namu Geurim.”

I decided to try the burgers as it seemed to be their main dish. The restaurant seemed to be infused with the pleasant aroma of rosemary, while the quaint interior felt very cozy. It invites weary passers to take a quick breather.

Namu Geurim’s menu

The burgers are very reasonably priced at 5,000 won.

While the coffee is about 3,000 to 4,000 won.

The modest cost is another reason to pay this café a visit.

We decided to try both the spicy and original burgers, and were immensely satisfied by how well the burgers came out considering the price.

We went at it while also holding a pleasant conversation.

Both burgers were outstanding.

It would be nice to order according to the individual’s preferences.

The façade is of stones with splendid colors, while beautiful flowers adorn the surrounding. I’ll remember this place to be very tasteful with good food and a relaxing atmosphere.
