[Jeju_TRAVEL] Hamdeok Seowoobong Walking Trail

– Jeju Tourism’s resident Korean travel diarist was out on his island travels again and sent this story –

Hamdeok Beach is one of the most popular and famous beaches on Jeju. The color of the ocean is so beautiful.

The hill overlooking the beach also has a great walking trail. Many visitors do not know about it.

Let’s get on and introduce it then.

The trail was actually made with the input of local residents and Jeju Olle Trail Route 19 runs through too.

Thus there’s more meaning when you walk.

‘Mekkara! Samchun watsugwang?’ which is Jeju dialect for greeting a visitor.

‘Samchun’ is also a friendly term to call somebody.

You’ll find a lot of these dialectical phrases on signs around the trail, which touch your feelings.

Then appreciate Jeju’s wind, ocean, and silver grass.

The trail is much nicer than you’d expect and only takes around 30 minutes to complete.

It’s simple enough to bring all the family, but watch out for the summit climb. It is a little tough.

View the beach from afar then see the horses that stare at you with calm eyes.

After this you can also walk on the coastal trail. There’s a good decking here for you to get the feeling of Jeju’s ocean. Plus this walk is even shorter.

Jeju Island has so many places to go. Try to slip the Hamdeok Seowoobong Trail into your trip if you can.
