An important note on Jeju’s updated bus system and this blog post
From August 2017, Jeju Island implemented a new city and intercity bus system. It increased the number of buses in service, while simplifying the routes, fees and numbering system.
Consequently, the contents of this previously published blog post may have changed. We therefore would kindly request that you consult this page for new bus maps in English on VisitJeju.net, and this page on our blog for a chart of the old and new bus route numbers.
If you read Korean, then the province’s official bus system website is a useful and up-to-date resource. We hope you’ll enjoy your travels on Jeju Island!
The cold weather doesn’t have to stop you from enjoying your visit to Jeju! If you’re looking for something unique to do with your family, visit the Jeju World Automobile Museum to see vintage cars from around the world.
The World Automobile Jeju Museum is located at Jeju, Andeokmyeon, Sangchangrl San 2065-4 (안덕면 상창리 산 2065-4). The phone number is 064-792-3000.
Directions by bus: Take bus #782 at Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal. After about 47 minutes, get off at Sumbinari (숨비나리) bus stop, and walk for about 6 minutes until you reach World Automobile Jeju Museum.
The general admission is 9,000 won. The hours of operation are 9am to 6pm. Starting from the ticket booth, you can see the prominent car theme displayed in various ways.
This automobile museum is not just for car enthusiasts, for it’s fun for the whole family. On the way to the indoor exhibits, there is a walking path and an outdoor space where children can feed rabbits and deer.
Inside the museum, there are multiple exhibits of vintage and classic cars. There is a small theater where you can watch a documentary on the world’s cars.
The most fascinating part of the museum for me is the posters displayed on the exhibit halls. It’s really interesting to see the evolution of cars and pop culture through advertisements.
Children (36 months to 6th grade) can participate in a hands-on driving experience that teaches road safety.
If the elementary students do well on the driving course, they can receive an international driving license.
As you wrap up your visit, you can stop by the gift shop for some coffee or automobile souvenirs.
From the Jeju World Automobile Museum, you can also see Marado if you go to the viewing platform.
I hope you’ll get to visit Jeju World Automobile Museum with your family. If you have already been there, please share about your experience.
