The entire area of Jeju Island was designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2010 for its unique volcanic topography and the beautiful landscape of the island. The geo-trails of Jeju are walking trails that were created using the Global Geoparks brand and based on the unique topographical resources, history, culture, and stories of each village. Starting from the development of Sanbangsan Mountain and Yongmeori Coast Geo-trail in April 2014, currently, a total of four geo-trails have been developed including Gimnyeong & Woljeong Geo-trail in Manjanggul Cave area, Seongsan & Ojo Geo-trail in Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak area, and Suwolbong Peak Geo-trail that connects Suwolbong Peak, Dangsanbong, and the Chagwido area. You can also find more information on what to do and see while here by consulting VisitJeju.net.
Theme 2: Jeju Trails (Geo-trails, Olle-gil Trails, Forest Paths)
Jeju Olle Trail- Route 4
From Pyoseon to Namwon
The distance of the Olle trail route 4 is 23.6km and it is the longest course of all Olle courses. The first half of the course passes through coastal paths and the second half of the course runs to Oreums (small inactive volcano) and Jungsangan (mountainous area). There is no special view on the way but the course introduces the peaceful life in Jeju. Therefore, Olle trail route 4 takes center stage as a course where you can organize your thoughts and find enlightenment.
Learn about the spirit of Haenyeo (female diver) at Gama-ri and mediate at Yeongcheon-sa to go on a journey to discover your ‘authentic’ self. In particular, this course is a lot quieter than other
courses since not that many tourists find this course. It just happily greets passing Olle hikers
