[Visit Jeju Island] Yacht tours: A more personal introduction to the sea

Gimnyeong Beach as seen from the Bona J catamaran.

Last week we highlighted a very enjoyable ocean cruise tour of the Seogwipo coastline, as well as a submarine tour off Songaksan further to the west.

This week, we move north to Gimnyeong, east of Jeju City, only this time, it’s a bit more intimate.

Unlike the 600-passenger New Paradise cruise ship, the Gimnyeong Yacht Tour’s Bona J catamaran accommodates just two dozen or so passengers.

Its hour-long introduction to the sea comes complete with the chance to do some fishing, and to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine with a raw fish and fruit sampler.

Being a yacht, you are indeed closer to the water and can come face to face with sea life (including dolphins, if you’re lucky).

The ocean breeze, the sun, the vista of Hallasan Mountain to the southwest… it’s all spectacular. And of course, it’s luxurious!
