Tomorrow the annual Tamnaguk Ipchungut Nori event will begin in Jeju City. This ceremony marks the traditional start of spring with a shamanistic ritual. It’s colorful, musical, and full of things to discover. As far as local festivals go, this is a big one!
Fun fact: Tamna is the old name for Jeju Island, before it became part of Korea and was a kingdom unto itself.
Time: Feb. 2 to Feb. 4 at locations around Jeju City, including City Hall, Jeju Mokgwana and Gwandeokjeong Pavilion.
