Volcanic islands, especially ones in warmer marine climates, can be incredibly (if counterintuitively) lush. As an ancient shield volcano located about 130 kilometers south of the Korean Peninsula, Jeju is no exception. These recent images were taken at Hallim Park, on the west side of Jeju Island.
