[Notice] Masks mandatory on public transport nationwide from May 26

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters has announced that beginning Tuesday, May 26, masks will be required for all passengers using public transportation nationwide.

This COVID-19 preventative measure applies to all buses, taxis, and subways around Korea. All domestic and international airline passengers will be required to wear masks from May 27th.

Anyone refusing to wear a mask can be banned from using public transportation. The government has assured transportation operators that they will not suffer repercussions due to complaints received by passengers who are refused entry due to their not having masks.
