Please note: Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many of Jeju’s seasonal festivals and tourist destinations have closed. Meanwhile, though, we would like to highlight some of the island’s attractions. We sincerely hope you will visit Jeju once the crisis has passed.

9.81 Park in Aewol-eup, Jeju City, is a large indoor and outdoor destination which is fun for the whole family.

The name refers to the standard acceleration of free fall (9.81 m/s2) which its main attraction — a selection of 3 kinds of non-motorized karts called “gravity racers” — use to propel visitors down 4 different tracks built on the side of a Jeju oreum (volcanic cone).

The park has visitors download an app (Android, iOS) which is a handy way to purchase tickets, arrange your group, keep detailed statistics of your speed and other fun racing achievements and much more.

Please note: There are many COVID-19 related protocols in place at the park at present, including mandatory mask wearing. Also, it is important to dress comfortably and wear sensible shoes (no heels). Most of the park is devoid of English signage and announcements, so it might be an idea to bring a Korean-speaking friend along.
