These days it’s very warm out on Jeju Island — hovering around 30℃. Samseonghyeol (in the heart of Jeju City) is an amazing historical place that also has many tall trees, green spaces, and an exhibition hall to stroll through and enjoy in cool comfort.

Designated as Historic Site No. 134, Samseonghyeol celebrates the founding of Jeju Island. According to legend, three demigods emerged from the holes within the rock circle pictured here. They established agriculture in Jeju, and eventually founded the Tamna Kingdom (which later became Jeju Province).

Please note: Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many of Jeju’s seasonal festivals and tourist destinations have closed. Meanwhile, though, we would like to highlight some of the island’s attractions. We sincerely hope you will visit Jeju once the crisis has passed.
