Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced early this morning that a Bangladeshi student who arrived on Sunday Aug. 30 (Air Seoul flight RS923 (15:10~16:15) from Gimpo Airport) was tested at the walk-through screening station at Jeju Airport and later found to be COVID-19 positive.
The result, which was confirmed by the Provincial Institute for Health and Environment, was determined around 10 p.m. that same day.
Current COVID-19 protocols at the airport assign special areas of the airport for international arrivals and others who have been overseas, and so this student was quarantined separately from the public and continually monitored by provincial health authorities upon arrival here.
To date, patient #45 has not shown any special COVID-19 symptoms. This individual will be treated at the negative pressure ward of Jeju National University Hospital.
