Volunteers help clean up post-typhoon marine debris

After Jeju experienced three large typhoons in the course of just 10 days, a lot of marine debris and garbage remains washed up along the coast.

In the local press we’ve seen reports of volunteers going out to clear up Tapdong, Dragon’s Head Rock (10 tons collected there!) and now, Aljakji Beach in Naedo-dong.

On Tuesday morning, Aug. 8, Jeju Deputy Governor Go Young-kwon (in the yellow jacket) helped volunteers and part time workers to clean up marine debris.

It’s a big job, but islanders get out and help after storms like this all the time… thank you everyone for your hard work!
