Here are today’s COVID-19 stats issued by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency for Nov. 30, 2020. (Info in English: ncov.mohw.go.kr/en)
– On the weekend, officials with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced that the island recorded 2 more COVID-19 patients (#79, #80), bringing the total of new cases in November to 20 patients (#61 ~ #80). There was a large spike in local contacts that require self-isolation/quarantine, as well.
In related news:
-In response to recent spikes in COVID-19 infections in the greater Seoul area, the national social distancing protocols have been raised to 2 (or higher) there and 1.5 in Jeju province and other areas of Korea. Details regarding the 5-tier social distancing system in Korea can be found here.
– Since mid-November, individuals who fail to wear protective masks (KF 94, KF 80, KF-AD, surgical and cotton) in businesses, public facilities, buses, etc., will be issued a fine of 100,000 won. Businesses will also be subject to fines of 1.5 to 3 million won in cases of non-compliance.
