Bunker de Lumières: Van Gogh exhibit ends this weekend

Please note that the Vincent van Gogh exhibition will end Feb. 28. Bunker de Lumieres Jeju will be closed until April in preparation for a new exhibit featuring the works of Monet, Renoir and Chagall.

This is a reinforced concrete building on the east side of the island which once housed a submarine optical cable system. Now it is a cultural space for immersive media art. The indoor space measures about half of a soccer field.

Colorful laser graphics of Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries are projected on the concrete walls in this exciting exhibition. Masks and a temperature check are mandatory.

Please note: Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many of Jeju’s seasonal festivals and tourist destinations have closed. Meanwhile, though, we would like to highlight some of the island’s attractions. We sincerely hope you will visit Jeju once the crisis has passed.
