Saturday marks the 73rd anniversary of an historical event which marked years of internecine conflict on Jeju. It is known as the Jeju April 3rd Incident (please click here to learn more).
This year’s event is dubbed “Camellia Flowers in Full Bloom.” The camellia, which blossoms throughout the tough winter months on the island, is symbolic of the tens of thousands of victims of this conflict.
