This October: World Heritage Festival ‘Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes’

The World Heritage Festival: Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes will be held for a second consecutive year from Oct. 1 to 17 at sites around Jeju Island, including Hallasan Mountain, Seongsan Sunrise Peak, Geomun Oreum, Manjanggul Cave, and more. “Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes “ refers to the 2007 inscription of Jeju Island as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage

There will be other public events that are free for everyone to join, like a weekend wellness area (with yoga and wholesome local food, Oct. 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17) and a large official ceremony held at Seongsan Sunrise Peak on the Oct. 16. Immersive art performances, night walks in nature, visits to various heritage sites and more, are also highlights. We’ll have more information for you as the summer progresses.
