From Nov. 26, Jeju’s premier museum, Jeju National Museum, will open a new, free children’s museum area and public immersive space in a new two-story building on the site.
There is a special exhibition room, a children’s museum and education room, and an immersive multimedia room complete with a digital (media art) experience center.
The Children’s Museum is a children’s experience space where kids (mainly aged 6 to 10) can learn more about the lives of the Jeju people, set against a backdrop of the mountains, fields, and ocean of Jeju. It is divided into five areas: Meet, Climb, Run, Go and Share.
As a national museum, there are also many facilities for the convenience of the general public, including a large lounge for relaxation, a cafe, and a children’s play area.
A special exhibition titled “Jeju National Museum Goes With Jeju” will also mark the 20 years since Jeju National Museum first opened in the Geonip neighborhood of Jeju City. It runs until Feb 6, 2022.
