The pedestrian-only shopping street in Sin Jeju known as Nuwemaru was officially opened last night. The name refers to the hilly topography of this Sin Jeju neighborhood which is said to resemble a cocoon and thus the potential to produce talented and wealthy people. In the past the street was known as Baojian Street and Rodeo Street, as many shops and restaurants are located there. One can enjoy the handprints of Hallyu celebrities and street band performances on the weekends. Address: Various locations at Yeondong 7-gil, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province More: http://www.visitjeju.net/en/tourView.jto?menuCd=DOM_000001816001000000&langCd=EN&areaId=CNTS_000000000018442 Visitjeju.net #visitjeju #Jeju #Island #Korea #grammablejeju #누웨마루거리 #제주도 #비짓제주

If you’ve never tried cazuela, this is your chance at Hokkeullakdarak. Shrimp, mushrooms and garlic roasted in olive oil and lightly flavored with rosemary. There’s also mussel stew, pasta or salami pizza. Plenty to try and savor at Hamdeok Beach. This weekend we had some oddly cool weather for early April. But it was also very windy, which is much less odd. In fact, it’s one of Jeju Island’s Samda “three plenties” (wind, rocks and women). These marigolds were cowering behind a traditional Jeju stone wall, which for centuries has protected Jeju’s people and crops from the strong ocean wind. Would you like to learn more about Samda and Jeju stone fences? Copy and paste: http://www.visitjeju.net/en/index.jto?menuCd=DOM_000001823002004000 Have a lovely week!
